Rev. Dr. Perrico J. Robinson, Sr., Pastor
The Rev. Dr. Perrico J. Robinson, Sr. was born in Jackson, Tennessee, the birthplace of the C.M.E. Church, and grew up in Selmer, Tennessee, where he accepted the call to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ. He has been preaching since the age of fifteen and has been in the ministry for fifteen years, having served churches in Tennessee, Pennsylvania, New Mexico, and Louisiana. He delivers dynamic, challenging, and life-changing messages, while leaving the impression that no one is excluded from God's love. In constant demand, he speaks at lectureships, seminars, revivals, and conferences. More recently, he spoke at the 2017 Unity Summit for one of the late night services hosted by the Connectional Young Adult Ministry.
Dr. Robinson earned his Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Biblical Studies with an emphasis in preaching and church history from Freed-Hardeman University, a Master of Arts in Pastoral Counseling from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary, and a Doctor of Ministry (D. Min.) in Biblical Counseling from Andersonville Theological Seminary.
While in the 4th Episcopal District, he ministered in the Louisiana Region, pastoring Point Pleasant CME Church and East Mission CME Church, served as Chair of the Commission on Evangelism and Membership at Mt. Zion C. M. E. Church, Minden, LA and for the Minden District, and as the Chaplain for the Louisiana Region Young Adult Ministry. During the 2018-2019 conference year, he was transferred to the Mighty Thriving 3D, and appointed by Bishop Sylvester Williams, Sr. to pastor the St. Luke C. M. E. Church in Champaign, Illinois.
Dr. Robinson is a Licensed Clinical Christian Counselor with the National Christian Counselors Association and is a Professional Clinical Member of the organization. He is also one of the founding members of an outreach foundation named Ignite the Torch, which is focused on providing positive role models for teens and has a mission to inspire and encourage high school seniors to become leaders.
In addition to holding several awards, during the 2018 RESET Young Adult Retreat in New Orleans, he was nominated and won the Outstanding Young Adult Clergy of the Year Award for the 4th Episcopal District. In addition to his love for preaching, counseling, community outreach, and a strong passion for evangelism, Dr. Robinson is the author of The Case for Evangelism, which is set to be released July 2019. He is the proud father of three boys, Perrico, Jr., Xavier, and Camden.
His favorite biblical passage comes from Ephesians 3:20, which reads, "Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us."
